Supernovae

We explore the origins of thermonucelar supernovae arising from the thermonuclear explosions of white dwarfs. Currently we focus on little studies outcomes from the mergers of hybrid He-CO white dwarfs with CO white dwarfs as well as mergers of neturon stars and white dwarfs.

Tidal disruption events and related phenomena

We explore the the mergers of main-sequence stars, red ginats, and planets with stellar black holes. We propose that these mergers give rise to transeint phenomena we term "micro-tidal disruption events" that may explain the origins of ultr-long GRBs, and possibly ultrra-lluminous X-ray sources.
